Welcome to Greenwich

December 2009

A big thank you to everyone this year who made the choice to shop in their own back yard, and support their local high street and market.

With the introduction of Shop Greenwich we hope we've gone a little way to help spread some of the wonderful stories behind each of the shops and to show how much fun and choice there is to be had shopping in Greenwich town centre.

There are many more present tips than we've had room to include here so if you are buying a gift and don't know where to start do take advantage of the gift suggestion service. Just email nicola@shopgreenwich.co.uk, saying who you're buying for and how much you'd like to spend, and we'll conjure up some suggestions to help take the pressure out of present buying.

Remember that Greenwich Market is now open every day until Christmas Eve offering its usual selection of unique, quality arts and crafts and what Time Out describes as some of the best world street food in London.

Merry Christmas from all at Shop Greenwich!

Santa returns to Greenwich Market

If you haven't yet seen Santa to give him your present list, no fear, as you can visit him at his magical grotto at 5b Greenwich Market this coming weekend and the weekend before Christmas.

There's an entry charge of £3 and children (open to all ages but must be accompanied by an adult) get a delightful Christmas gift.

The grotto is open 11.30am to 5.30pm (though Santa will take occasional breaks to feed his reindeers). Booking is not required.

For more information please email Nicola on nicola@shopgreenwich.co.uk

Top presents - For Baby

Beauty and the Bib is one of the prettiest shops in the town centre. And alongside its usual array of brightly coloured bibs and tops, it has added a Christmas collection featuring holly and Christmas puddings. One bib is £8 or buy two for a super £12.

Also don't miss the knitted Christmas pudding hats for £14 and Christmas pudding onesies for £8. The little ones may not entirely understand it's Christmas but that's no reason for them not to look the part!
