Welcome to Greenwich
February 2010
|
It's nearly Valentine's and if you're anything like me you haven't quite gotten round to thinking about it yet. But Valentine's Day this year falls very conveniently on Sunday so you have all weekend to shop...
If you want something sweet for your Sugar Plum be sure to call by Rhodes Bakery for their delicious handmade chocolate hearts and just-big-enough-to-share heart-shaped cookies.
Whilst if you want flowers for your Blossom, stop at the flower stand at Greenwich Market from 10am to 5.30pm on Thursday and Friday, or take advantage of extra long opening hours on Saturday and Sunday - 7am to 7pm - and get the pick of the bunch of British-grown hand-tied bouquets, starting from £25.
For something pretty to last forever, like your love, these adorable handmade brooches are available at Belle from £15-£22.
And pop into the market on Sunday where all day long your messages of love will be read over the tanoy, with a prize for the most romantic message... And there's free gift wrapping too!
2010 is the year to fall in love with shopping in Greenwich all over again.

Emma Nissim is one of Greenwich Market's most charming shops, easily identifiable from the swarm of people clustering around the shopfront taking photos of golden retriever Alfie who has taken up permanent residence in the shop window making him something of a local celebrity.
But Alfie is not the only reason to visit the shop - the new range of handprinted t-shirts and scarves are to die for! Sleek, chic and easy to wear, these handprinted pieces are not to be found anywhere on the high street.
And up until and including 14 February Emma Nissim is offering 20% off its range of silk scarves and ties, and a whopping 50% off its unisex cravats, pictured left. You'll get tied up trying to choose!
